Pri-Med UPDATES Spring 2020 Conference Series Postpones to Fall 2020
March 18, 2020
Pri-Med UPDATES Spring 2020 (PMUS20) is postponing our annual conference series, originally scheduled over May & June 2020 to Fall, 2020.
We will inform you directly of the rescheduled dates as soon as the arrangements have been made and will post the new dates on our website as well.
Pri-Med UPDATES Spring 2020 has made the very difficult decision that as of today, March 18th, due to the magnitude of the unanticipated public health and safety issues posed by the rapidly escalating COVID-19 outbreaks and contagion, we have no choice but to postpone the entire 10 city conference series which was planned to take place over May & June 2020 across Canada. In order to preserve business continuity for our community, we are working rapidly to reschedule all 10 events.
The health, safety and well-being of our community, faculty, staff, sponsors, and the patients you serve is of paramount importance. With an ever-increasing number of primary care professionals on the front lines of preparing and reacting to the COVID-19 outbreak, postponement of our spring conference series was unavoidable. We hope that rescheduling will ensure our community is able to do what they do best – help and heal. We understand that you are needed in your local communities to help institutions and patients - and we must do our part to ensure this essential care is not interrupted.
Our postponement decision was also driven by the Public Health Agency of Canada’s (PHAC) announcement that mass gatherings of more than 50 people should be cancelled or postponed; on their recommendation that Canadians limit all non-essential travel; and practice social distancing. Follow this link for the latest PHAC COVID-19 Updates: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection.html
In the coming weeks and months, Pri-Med will continue to monitor the situation closely and consult with the global teams of our parent company, business event industry associations and The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) for any new or heightened risks. We will continue to apply evidence-based decision-making to ensure the continued safety of the healthcare community.
