    Romulo Colindres Vice President, Global Medical Affairs Lead, Zoster

      Dr. Romulo Colindres received his Medical Degree and Masters of Public Health from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and UNC School of Public Health. He received his board certification in Pediatrics, with residency from Children’s National Medical Center, Washington DC. He worked in clinical practice prior to joining the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a medical epidemiologist. Romulo joined GSK in 2007 as Director of Epidemiology & Health Outcomes for Latin America, before becoming Head of Global Epidemiology for GSK Vaccines, based in Wavre, Belgium. In this role, he led a team covering the full portfolio of GSK vaccines from exploratory and early development to life-cycle management. In 2013, he took the position of Vaccines Medical Affairs and Clinical R&D Head in Brazil, and in 2015 was appointed Scientific Affairs and Public Health Director for Latin America. Most recently, in 2016 Romulo was appointed Vice President, Global Medical Affairs Lead, Zoster, and has been leading the medical team in supporting engagements with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Zoster Working Group, Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP), and several other policy making groups and regulatory agencies across North America and Europe.
