Pri-Med Canada Scientific Planning Committee

The Pri-Med Canada conference is developed by the Pri-Med Canada Scientific Planning Committee consisting of an interprofessional group of medical professionals. Sessions and speakers and selected based off needs assesments and are aimed to meet your needs. The Pri-Med Canada Scientific Planning Committee has sought out top physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and specialists in their field of practice to deliver 20+ lectures, covering the latest updates and clinical challenges common to your practice.

Learning Objectives

Through the lens of equity, diversity, and inclusion:

  • Provide practical knowledge and tools to assist family physicians, nurse practitioners and pharmacists in their day-to-day practice.
  • Review current standards of care and provide new information that will allow participants to improve clinical skills in the prevention, assessment, diagnosis, and management of common acute and chronic disease states.
  • Present information in a format so it can be translated immediately into primary care practice.
  • Incorporate advanced educational perspectives of content reflective of the learning needs of primary care practitioners of multiple disciplines, the comprehensiveness of primary care, and the diversity of the populations to whom we provide care. (medical expert, professional, scholar)
  • Learn to utilize a process improvement perspective in applying what they have learned. (expert, scholar, leader)
  • Acquire knowledge of new investigations and therapeutic strategies. (expert, scholar, leader)
  • Develop practical office-based screening and disease prevention strategies. (expert, health advocate).
  • Provide opportunities to compare patient experiences with their peers and experts. (collaborator).
